Farmers’ protest

A new protest by farmers at the Polish-Ukrainian border crossing in Hrebenny in the Lublin Voivodeship has been ongoing since yesterday. Demonstrators are blocking access to the border on national road number 17, police said.

This means complications for carriers transporting goods between Poland and Ukraine if they decide to send their vehicles across the border in Hrebenny.

As part of the blockade, farmers allow 12 trucks from the main queue – from 8 am to 8 pm – to the border crossing in the direction of Ukraine. In addition, they let four trucks through during business hours, for example with humanitarian aid, perishable food or dangerous goods, the PAP added.

Because of this, the waiting time for registration at the border crossing in Hrebenno on the way out of Poland was 2 hours this morning, according to data from the Lublin branch of the National Tax Administration.

On the other hand, in the opposite direction – at the entrance to Poland – the protesters do not let the trucks through at all.
